The Situation: In this small specialist manufacturing company there were concerns over an ambitious senior manager with aspirations to become a director.
What we did: We used a structured job analysis process to identify the company’s requirements in the Director level role and used a simple 360° process to highlight the individual’s strengths and development needs We embarked upon a nine month programme of one-to-one coaching and action planning sessions where the individual was encouraged to build on their strengths and make specific behavioural changes designed to improve their image within the business and to satisfy the requirements for promotion.
The Outcome: The end result was that the individual was promoted to Director level and his improved performance is now a valuable asset to the organisation.
